“Hotline Bling,” Drake
For a minute, everyone tried to cop the dance Drake does in the video for this smooth R&B smash, which reached No. 2 on the Hot 100. But don’t worry if you can’t quite mimic the superstar’s quirky moves. We advise you to groove to “Hotline Bling” however you like — parka, Timberlands, and heavy sweater are totally optional.

Trending on Billboard

“Tom Ford,” Jay Z
The mix of Jay’s bravado and Timbaland’s squiggly beat makes “Tom Ford” the dopest song ever written about a fashion designer. It’s the rap equivalent of a glass of Riesling, which may be why it only reached No. 39 on the Hot 100 — it’s reserved for folks with discerning palettes.

“Fancy,” Iggy Azalea feat. Charli XCX
This wonderfully bratty bubblegum rap tune topped the Hot 100 and became Billboard’s official Song of the summer of 2014. Critics likened Iggy to a female Eminem and Charli to a gangsta Gwen Stefani, though both ladies bring plenty of their own personality into play.

“How Low,” Ludacris
Luda references the Limbo — and a whole bunch of other stuff — in this nimbly rapped Top 10 smash. “Drop it, hit it, dump it, split it,” he exhorts in the third verse, probably no longer talking about that party game with the broomstick.

“No Hands,” Waka Flocka Flame ft. Roscoe Dash and Wale
The triumphant horn sounds on this Hot Rap Songs chart-topper are well earned. The tune finds Waka, Wale and Roscoe in full-on baller mode, sipping Moscato and enjoying the company of beautiful women. The forecast in this fantasy world: sunny with a 100% chance of raining dollar bills.

“All I Do Is Win (Remix),” DJ Khaled ft. T-Pain, Diddy, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Fabolous, Jadakiss, Fat Joe and Swizz Beatz
There was no way DJ Khaled couldn’t win with this remix. First, there’s the brazen DJ Nasty & LVM beat. Then, there’s the roster: a dream team of all-star rappers that includes Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Diddy and Nicki Minaj. Grooving through this entire five minute, 21 second victory lap is like sprinting a mile, only way more fun.

“Dance A$$,” Big Sean
Let it never be said that Big Sean doesn’t love the ladies. “Short girls, small girls, skinny girls, all girls,” he raps at the tail end of this lusty banger, inviting any and all females to the party. Thanks in part to the MC Hammer sample, this one wiggled its way into the Top 10 on three charts: Rhythmic, Hot Rap Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

“The New Workout Plan,” Kanye West
Yeezy must’ve seen a few Jane Fonda aerobics tapes back in the day, though he doesn’t pepper this peppy dance tune with a whole lot of actual fitness advice. And he doesn’t need to: the beat is enough to get the heart rate jumping, while the satirical lyrics offer a mini-workout for the mind.

“WTF,” Missy Elliott
Over a hyped-up Pharrell beat, Missy returns to reclaim the title of hip-hop’s smartest, funniest, most wondrously wigged-out female MC. “How they do where you from?” Missy asks, playing tastemaker on a tune that reached No. 22 on the Hot 100 and No. 5 on Hot Rap Songs.

“The Water Dance,” Chris Porter & Pitbull
“Do it for the Vine / Do it for the ‘gram,” raps Jersey rhymer Chris Porter, realizing the social media potential for this infectious cut. As the video suggests, there’s no wrong way to do the titular dance, so long as you’re fluid, loose, and likely soaked with sweat by the end.

“Dessert (Remix),”DawinfeatSilento
“Whatcha gon’ do with that dessert?” Answer: Anything you darn well please, as this dance-rap team-up between Brooklyn multi-talentDawinand “Watch Me” hit-makerSilentoburns enough calories to justify tasting whatever sweets you like.

“Don’t Tell ‘Em,” Jeremih
Even without the thumping house beat of “Rhythm Is a Dancer,” the 1992 SNAP! hit referenced in the hook, “Don’t Tell ‘Em” makes you want to move. It’s a late-night grinders’ anthem with enough DJ Mustard spice to have reached No. 6 on the Hot 100.

“Trap Queen,” Fetty Wap
Everyone’s a sucker for a good love story. Perhaps that’s why this half-sung, half-rapped marriage of trap and R&B reached No. 2 on the Hot 100. It’s a song about a couple of love-struck outlaws moving product, making bank, and losing themselves in the thrill of their lives together.

“Drop It Like It’s Hot,” Snoop Dogg ft. Pharrell Williams
After a decade of G-funk super hits, Snoop Dogg finally topped the Hot 100 with this twitchy, sparse Pharrell-assisted jam. It’s just synth, drum machine, tongue clicks, and Snoop’s loveable-gangsta charm — proof that less can be more.

“Whatever You Like,” T.I.
T.I. earned his second-ever No. 1 hit with this pop-rap promise to lavish his lady with the finer things in life. Even if he’s speaking more from the groin than from the heart, Tip’s delivery is pretty sweet.
