Aiken residents will head to the polls June 11 and cast their ballots in several primary races.

Political party nominees in several races will be decided June 11.
In the Republican primary, voters can determine the party's nominees for Aiken County Council District 4, Aiken County sheriff, S.C. House District 81 and the Second Congressional District.
Voters casting Democratic primary ballots can help determine the nominee in S.C. House District 82, S.C. Senate District 40 and the Second Congressional District.
Aiken County Council District 4 includes most of the city of North Augusta. Running are Landon Ball and Gene Helmich. The winner will be the only candidate on the Nov. 5 general election ballot.
The candidates running for the Republican nomination for Aiken County sheriff are Stuart Prettel, Marty Sawyer and Ed Wilson. The winner will face Democrat Lucas Grant on Nov. 5.
S.C. House District 81 includes most of Aiken's Southside. The candidates running for the Republican nomination are Charlie Hartz, Betsy Lamb and Mack Morris. The winner of the Republican nomination will face Democrat Jensen Jennings on Nov. 5.

The Second Congressional District includes Aiken County, Barnwell County and most of the Columbia suburbs. Incumbent Joe Wilson faces Hamp Redmond in the Republican primary. The winner will face the winner of the Democratic nomination Nov. 5.
S.C. House District 82 includes most of Aiken's Northside, part of northern Aiken County and parts of Edgefield and Saluda counties. Incumbent Bill Clyburn faces Brian "Ryan B" Doyle in the Democratic primary. The winner will face Republican Suzy Spurgeon in the Nov. 5 election.
Incumbent Brad Hutto faces Kendrick Brown in Senate District 40 which includes eastern Aiken County and parts of five other counties. The winner will face Republican Sharon Carter in November.
And in the Second Congressional District, David Robinson and Daniel Shrief face off for the Democratic nomination.
Voting will begin at 7 a.m. Tuesday and continue until 7 p.m.
Any voter in line at 7 p.m. who hasn't voted can vote as long as the voter remains in line.
